Champagne’s stories, wines and people
These are intense years for Champagne, where the paradigm shift from a consolidated tradition is getting stronger. The first edition of Parcel99 includes pieces on the champenoise avant-garde written by Fabrizio Pagliardi, on the relationship between growth and money by Daniel Romano, the role of women in Champagne discussed by Mélanie Tarlant and a piece on the historical path of the region by Serge Wolikow. Additional insights come from the interview to the “bio dads” of Champagne, the report of the last edition of the Champagne Week and Peter Crawford’s funny tasting notes from a wine tasting session of 1988 vintages.
Everyone was given freedom to write according to their own style, following their own experience and knowledge in order to protect, as much as possible, wine diversity not only in the vineyard and in the cellar but also in the words of those who drink and take it upon themselves to write about it.
